This unique place in Lyle, Washington - part of the Columbia River Gorge scenic area - is magical and utterly beautiful. The property is set in a magnificent meadow as far as the eye can see with soft rolling hills, edged up to a deep oak woodland/ponderosa pine forest. Wildlife, stars, trails, and rivers all abound here. We think it is one of the finest, most precious and beautiful places on the planet. For outdoor recreation, this area is a windsurfing and kiteboarding mecca. Mount Adams and Mount Hood, await hikers and skiers, and kayaking is popular on the Klickitat and White Salmon Rivers. Heart-stopping beauty and peacefulness whichever way you turn. You will feel like you have gone to your own little Shangri-La and you will not soon forget the experience. Even sleeping is special here, as you look up into the dome of the yurt and behold the stars, while twinkle lights gently illuminate the interior. However, you can walk a couple hundred feet into the meadow and find service.

We love the Forest Cupcake!
What a great place to reconnect and chill. The plentiful well water was cool and delicious. The yurt is large with a nice table and sweet little kitchenette with burners and enough pots and pans for simple meals. The queen pullout couch bed is certainly better than the hard ground, but even with the soft bed topper, it’s not quite as comfortable as a regular bed would be. There was often a lovely breeze along the hills. However, it’s a yurt, so when it’s a hot summer day it can be huge stifling in the summer afternoon, even with the windows and dome open. It’s good to plan to be away on grand adventures during that time. Cools off wonderfully in the evening. We really enjoyed our time here. A true gem.

I have stayed at this yurt a handful of times. It’s absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It’s always clean and well stocked. I will return again.

This was my second stay in the yurt and it was just as wonderful as my first stay! I loved seeing it in the springtime with the rolling green hills. Everything is so peaceful and beautiful here, I can’t wait to go back a third time!

This is such a great jumping off spot for exploring the Gorge! We had everything we needed for a cozy night. Definitely recommend!

A wonderful stay!
I had a lovely stay at the yurt April 19-21 with my dog, Rosie. Irene greeted us and showed us around the yurt when we arrived, making us feel right at home, which was wonderful as a solo traveler (plus Rosie). Rosie is leash reactive, and Irene kindly offered to keep her dog away from the yurt during our stay so Rosie could relax - thank you so much Irene! We used the butane stoves Irene keeps on hand to cook, and they worked great. It was easy to wash up in the sink with water from the pump outside. I slept in the queen sized pull-out bed and put a mattress topper on it that Irene provided - even with the topper, the mattress wasn't great with a bad back (very soft, so you sink into it), but I chose to sleep on it again the second night rather than trying out the smaller pull-out sofa. There were some spiders and other little insects in the yurt, as the front door screen seems a bit bent, but I ignored them. I kept the front doors closed and opened the windows, which have screens, when I wanted ventilation. I LOVED running the wood stove all night, which from directions looks to usually be available until end of May when fire controls go into effect. It was so warm and cozy in the yurt each night. The yurt faces a grassy hill, providing privacy, as Irene's house and the neighbor's house are 500-1500' away (I'm obviously not great at assessing distance). It was lovely to sit on the front deck and to walk up the hill. We enjoyed the short drives to amazing hiking trails!
